The SMU Mustangs defeated the No. 25 TCU Horned Frogs 41-38 in the game known as “The Battle for the Iron Skillet” at Amon Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.
This is SMU’s first win over TCU since 2011 and their first 4-0 start since 1984 when they were in the Southwest Conference.
This was the 99th meeting between the two schools.
Next up for TCU is a home contest against the Kansas Jayhawks to open Big 12 Conference play.
SMU will open American Athletic Conference at USF.
