Texas Legends Host First Robotics Night, Driven by Toyota

FRISCO, TX – The Texas Legends have partnered with Toyota to create a unique game night benefiting local youth.  On Saturday, Jan. 5th, the Legends will welcome the Texas chapter of FIRST Robotics, FIRST in Texas, for a variety of STEM activities as they take on the Santa Cruz Warriors.

The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting, mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, inspire innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Along with custom FIRST in Texas jerseys, fans will enjoy various activities and a robotics show from FIRST students at halftime, showcasing the heart and soul of the night.  Fans will have the opportunity to purchase game-worn jerseys benefiting FIRST in Texas throughout the night and will be educated on further ways to support FIRST in Texas.

“Toyota’s support of FIRST in Texas is something we want to spotlight because it shows the true heart behind such a large, well-known company,” said Legends President/General Manager Malcolm Farmer.  “But beyond that even, it’s a fun a partnership that aligns with some of the activities of our games and our community presence.  We’re excited to have the robotics teams out and showcase what FIRST in Texas is all about to our fans.”

Saturday’s jerseys take the color schemes of both Toyota and FIRST in Texas and create a crisp, futuristic twist on the Legends’ wordmark.  Incorporating robotics and unique numbers, the Legends jerseys add the final touch to the FIRST in Texas night presented by Toyota.

The Legends and Warriors will meet for the third and final matchup of the season.  The two teams split a double-header in Santa Cruz and will play the final tie-breaker at 7:30pm Saturday.  For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com
