Two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning was named as the starter for the New York Giants for their Monday Night Football contest against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Manning started the first two games of the season for the Giants, but was replaced by the Giants first round pick Daniel Jones beginning in week three.
Manning is the franchise’s all-time passing leader, throwing for 56,537 yards and 362 touchdowns in his 16 seasons with New York.
Manning, 38, is in the final year of his contract after being the top overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft and there has been no word on whether he will continue his career with another team or retire.
“Just take it one week at a time,” Manning said on espn.com. “You never want to make decisions about the future while you’re living in the present and don’t know the circumstance of what can happen. Just have to go out there and try to get a win for the Giants, if I’m asked to do that. I’ll analyze everything else after the season.”
The Giants-Eagles game will air on ESPN.
