Robert Quinn, the defensive end the Dallas Cowboys acquired in the off-season from the Miami Dolphins, was suspended by the NFL for two games for a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Quinn had already left the Cowboys training camp in Oxnard to return to Dallas for surgery on his fractured left hand that occurred earlier in the week during practice.

Quinn is a former Pro Bowler who was added for his pass rushing prowess to join DeMarcus Lawrence on the Cowboys defensive line.

Lawrence had off-season shoulder surgery and has yet to practice in training camp.

Quinn will be eligible to return in Week Three when the Cowboys host his former team, the Dolphins, at AT&T Stadium.
