OCEAN GROVE, N.J. — Playa Bowls, New Jersey’s finest health food shop specializing in acai, pitaya and chia pudding bowls, juices and smoothies, is hosting a month-long fundraiser this October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness to support Mary’s Place by the Sea, a New Jersey-based non-profit respite home for women with all forms of cancer.
Founded in Belmar in 2014, Playa Bowls, which now boasts 55 locations on the East Coast, is raising funds for Mary’s Place by the Sea, which helps women with cancer who need a break from medical treatments and daily responsibilities to focus on healing: mind, body and soul. Guests benefit from integrative services that complement their treatment, including oncology massages, nutrition education, counseling, guided meditation, yoga and more, with all services at no cost to guests. Thanks to the generosity of individual, corporate and third-party donors, Mary’s Place operates out of a state-of-the-art, custom-built, 10-bedroom home in Ocean Grove, NJ, one block from the beach.
“We’re excited to join forces with Mary’s Place by the Sea to raise money for women in need and encourage everyone to visit a Playa Bowls nearby to help us support women with cancer,” said Abby Taylor, Founding Partner of Playa Bowls.
Playa Bowls customers can support Mary’s Place by the Sea by ordering the “Playa Pink Oatmeal Bowl” with 10% of the purchase price going to this cause. Donations can also be made at the register with other items purchased.
