Entourage” creator and Emmy Award winning Doug Ellin, Emmy Award nominee Kevin Dillon and Emmy Award winning actor-director Kevin Connolly are parlaying the huge success they’ve enjoyed with VICTORY the Podcast from ActionPark Media into a weekly digital series that will feature behind-the-scenes commentary, outtakes and original animated skits.

The first two episodes of the series dubbed ‘VICTORY NOT the Podcast’ in the opening of “The Pilot” dropped on the Ficto app on April 29th and it is the perfect compliment to the podcast and “Entourage.”

The best thing about the podcast is that it literally feels like you are hanging out with the guys at the ActionPark Media studios (and subsequently hating on the guy at the flower shop!) and spending time with friends, a great thing to have during the pandemic.

“What the show (“Entourage”) was about was friendship and loyalty and family,” Ellin said on Yahoo. “Those are the things that I hope people will take away from it.”

That is exactly what I take from “Entourage” and VICTORY the Podcast takes that vibe to a new level by letting the listeners in, so it was no surprise that the new digital series was right on cue and followed the same winning formula.

“The Pilot” had me laughing out loud with all of the references from VICTORY the Podcast including Ellin’s being in a hurry to go play pickleball, Dillon’s disdain for traffic coming in from Malibu and a animated version of Connolly the businessman in a suit. Of course, there was a cardboard cutout of Dillon since he was not on hand for the festivities while he was off making an action movie with Bruce Willis. Everything is set up for the series with the explanation of the animation that could potentially make the 5’7 Connolly morph into 6’5 and muscle-bound while at the same time giving Ellin his hair from five years ago.

The second episode “The Slap” has all three of the guys on hand and opens with the “Irish Crickets” that fans of the podcast have come to know from Dillon opening a beer at the beginning of the show. Dillon gives the rundown of the movie “A Day to Die” in which he is the lead (although Bruce Willis is first on the call sheet) and it was filmed the murder capital of America. The guys also discuss when they all attended a Klitschko fight, with some great animation showing the details as they tell the story that included Luke Wilson getting into a fight.

VICTORY NOT the Podcast will have 30 episodes this season with new shows dropping each Thursday. All you need to do is download the Ficto app and enjoy.

VICTORY the Podcast has new episodes each Wednesday. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts and you’ll discover that there is often a bonus episode on Fridays.
