HBO Reveals ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Premiere Date

Mark your calendars and get ready to return to Westeros. HBO just announced the highly-anticipated premiere date for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones.

Debuting Sunday, April 14, the long-awaited, six-episode season is sure to excite. With a budget of roughly $15 million per episode, the final season is expected to be comparable to six feature-length films.

In true Game of Thrones fashion, the premiere reveal also included a teaser trailer that has everyone speculating. The teaser features Jon, Sansa and Arya walking through the crypts of Winterfell. But why is Bran so obviously absent? Where is the Mother of Dragons? Do the Stark siblings’ statues in the crypt foreshadow the family’s demise?

At least we know this for certain: a Lannister always pays his debts and HBO always leave us begging for more.

Only 12 weeks, six days, two hours and 30 minutes until our watch begins—but who’s counting?
