ORLANDO, Fla. — Tickets are now on sale for “Dancing for Diabetes,” an annual showcase of Central Florida dancers that has raised more than $300,000 in funds for diabetes research. This year’s show will be held on Saturday, November 10 at the Bob Carr Theater in Orlando.

Dancing for Diabetes is a nonprofit organization based in Central Florida with a mission to spread awareness, through the art of dance, to better educate the community, raise funds to find a cure and inspire those with diabetes to live healthy and active lives. The nonprofit was created by Elizabeth Forrest, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 10.  “I was determined to not let diabetes define my life,” she says, “and a big part of that was creating a benefit show to raise funds for research.”

“The show is entertainment, not a competition,” Forrest stresses.  “It’s hundreds of dancers doing what they love, using their talents to help people in need.  It’s truly a magical night with audience members becoming more aware of diabetes and being inspired by the passion and commitment the many dancers bring to the stage in order to help this cause.”

Tickets for the show can be purchased online at www.drphillipscenter.org.
