LOS ANGELES — Gen.G, the global esports organization that transcends borders, announced today it is partnering with NBA Champion Chris Bosh, bringing him on board as the organization’s Player Management Advisor.

In a move that will continue to establish the organization as the gold standard in esports and entertainment, Gen.G places a high priority on teamwork and leadership — areas where Bosh brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Bosh will mentor teams and players, focusing on leadership, teamwork, building great teams, dealing with the pressures of high-profile sports, and more. Gen.G players will learn from a champion that faced adversity himself as a young athlete and knows what they’re experiencing.

“Everything about Gen.G aligns with my values and interests as an avid gamer,” Bosh said. “Coaching and mentoring have always been part of my long-term plan in some capacity. We’re creating a culture of winning and integrity based on the concept of teamwork — I can’t wait to get started because the future of Gen.G, and esports as a whole, is extremely bright. I really appreciated Gen.G’s approach to building winning teams, they were one of the first esports organizations to hire psychologists, physical trainers, really putting the player’s health and well-being first. Gen.G is first-class all the way.”

Gen.G esports has five elite level teams competing in the biggest international esports tournament. ‘Seoul Dynasty’ compete in the esteemed Overwatch League. ‘Gen.G LoL’, formerly ‘Samsung Galaxy’, won the 2017 League of Legends World Championship in Beijing. ‘Gen.G HotS’ went undefeated to become the Heroes of the Storm Global Champions at BlizzCon 2017. ‘Gen.G PUBG’ won the PUBG Global Invitational 2018 (TPP), and Chinese team, ‘Gen.G Clash Royale’ was announced earlier this year.

“Chris’ presence will have a profound effect on our players and the impact will be felt top-to-bottom within our organization,” Arnold Hur, Gen.G esports Chief Growth Officer said. “He’s a winner and has the unique ability to get through to our players in a way that many coaches can’t. We’re thrilled to have him as the newest member of the Gen.G family.”

With two NBA titles, 11 All-Star appearances and an Olympic Gold Medal to his name, Bosh will play a critical role in helping Gen.G players prepare to take on the sport’s elite. As someone who made his living sharing the spotlight with other superstars in order to achieve one common goal, Bosh is committed to helping Gen.G players develop into successful professional gamers both inside and outside the arena.

Given the players’ newfound public notoriety and pressure to win, it’s essential for these athletes to have someone on staff who they can trust and talk to. By being around the teams throughout the year and serving as a resource at critical times, Bosh is dedicated to serving a multi-purposed role of advisor, coach, mentor and confidante at Gen.G.
