The PDC Spotlight is a monthly lifestyle feature focusing on professional sports dancers and their interests outside of the dance world. The March 2018 edition features Dallas Mavericks Dancers two-year veteran Maggie.

PDC: Scenario is that you’ve won a $25,000 shopping spree on a game show, where would you go and what would you get?

MAGGIE: I’m going to Northpark and first I’m going to get some Christian Louboutin, some black pumps with really skinny heels with red bottoms. Then I’ll get some J Brand Skinny Jeans. I’ll probably get a black halter body suit or some sort of a black blouse with probably a leather jacket from All Saints. Then I’ll head over to Tiffany & Co. and get me a nice necklace and over to David Yurman and get me some nice earrings. Next up is makeup from Sephora. We’re going to get some Bare Minerals, NARS, a Morphe eyeshadow pallete. Then we’re going to the Blow Dry Bar to get my hair done and my nails done. We’ll need to go to Lululemon at some point. We can also go to the movies, the AMC Northpark where we could see a sappy chick flick or an action movie, but I’m not a big superhero fan. I love action movies, really like Taken. We are also getting popcorn with butter and salty and an ICEE.

PDC: What are some of your favorite foods and corresponding restaurants?

MAGGIE: I really like Filet Mignon, Oscar-style so it has the creamy sauce and crab meat. At Saltgrass, they give you fried asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes, so that’s a whole meal in itself. I also like Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, I always get their lobster bisque and oysters on a half shell. I love oysters. I also like to get their grilled shrimp caeser salad. Then, if I’m going to Village Burger Bar, I’m getting a grilled chicken burger with sweet potato fries.

PDC: We’ve talked entrees, what about a favorite dessert?

MAGGIE: If I’m going to go and get dessert somewhere, I’m going to get PF Chang’s Great Wall of Chocolate. It is an eight-layer cake and it’s got chocolate chips in it with chocolate frosting and raspberry drizzle with a little bit of vanilla ice cream.

PDC: Since we’ve indulged all over Northpark Center and dove in to foods and desserts, let’s switch to fitness and nutrition. What are some things you do to stay physically fit?

MAGGIE: I go to EVOLVE as much as I can, I make it work with my schedule. I also go to Core Power hot yoga and do their Hot Power Fusion class. I also do 9Round, which is a 30-minute kickboxing class. I also do meal prep on Sunday nights, it takes about three hours to do the week’s worth of meals. Lots of grilled chicken, salmon, asparagus and rice. Snacks include apples and peanut butter and strawberries and yogurt.

PDC: Do you have any favorite TV shows that you like to watch or binge-watch?

MAGGIE: I have watched Grey’s Anatomy all the way through, 13 or 14 seasons. I also like Vikings, it’s really interesting. Then I also like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

PDC: What would you dream job be and why?

MAGGIE: Wedding planner. I started doing events after college and I loved it. If I had some investors, I would hire on a photographer and have different vendors for the catering, the bakery, the music, the lights, all of the decor, floral, everything.
