The Dallas Cowboys held their (what seems like) annual home opener against the New York Giants on NBC’s Sunday Night Football and were victorious 20-13.

Dak Prescott got things underway for Cowboys fans with a 64 yard touchdown pass to Tavon Austin on the third play of the game.

The drama began during the week when Giants safety Landon Collins said that New York would have a better chance to win if they kept the ball in the Cowboys’ quarterback’s hands and Prescott replied “Challenge accepted.”

“We definitely hear that,” Prescott said on espn.com. “I kind of said the challenge accepted, I said I accepted it. But I can tell you I wasn’t the only one who accepted that challenge. This team accepted it. That offense accepted it. We wanted to go out there and just show you guys.”

Prescott was also a force on the ground as he gained a career-high 45 yards rushing, outgaining Giants first round pick Saquon Barkley. Barkley was held to 28 yards.

The Cowboys defense had its second consecutive stellar game, holding Eli Manning and the Giants offense to three points until late in the fourth quarter.

Next up for the Cowboys is a road trip to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon at 3:25 p.m. CT.
