US National Coed And All Girl Teams Announced For 2019

USA Cheer has announced its US National team members for 2019.

The Coed and All Girl teams will represent the United States at the 11th Annual International Cheer Union (ICU) World Cheerleading Championships at the Walt Disney World ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida on April 24 – 26, 2019.

The ICU, the worldwide governing body for cheerleading, showcases the top cheerleaders from six continents at the annual ICU World Cheerleading Championships, where at least 80 countries are expected to field teams to compete.

The US National All Girl and Coed Teams have won a combined 18 gold medals in the last 10 years. More than 130 athletes tried out for the prestigious honor of representing the United States on the US National All Girl and Coed Teams.

“The athletes that make up the US National Team are among the best cheerleaders in the country, and we are proud to have them representing the United States,” says Lauri Harris, Executive Director of USA Cheer. “We pioneered the sport of cheer, and we are proud of the athletes that have been chosen to represent us on the world stage.”

This year’s coaches represent a wide range of American cheerleading.

Tony Nash is returning as Head Coach of the US National All Girl Team, and Director of USA Cheer National Teams. Nash, former coach for the national champion Morehead State University teams, is the current coach of the all girl team at Indiana University, which he has coached to six national championships between 2012 and 2019. He is joined by Assistant Coaches Savannah Sibley and Leighton Clarke, and choreographer Blake Johnson.

LeRoy McCullough returns as the Head Coach of the US National Coed Team for his fifth year. McCollough has coached national championship teams at the University of Louisville, Oklahoma State University, and several all star programs. He is joined by Assistant Coaches Christa Grizzle Sanford and Alli Lumpkin.
