NEW YORK – FOX Sports Films announces a four-part documentary series called ALL THE WAY UP: BAKER MAYFIELD which chronicles the path of the 2017 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, as he navigates the transition from Oklahoma Sooner to first selection overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. The series will premiere with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, July 29 from 3:00-4:00 PM ET on the FOX broadcast network, with the final two episodes airing the following Sunday, August 5, from 3:00-4:00 PM ET on FOX.

Viewers will have the opportunity to see Mayfield true to form, as one of the most-talked about, hotly-contested prospect in years, and witness firsthand how he went from an “undersized” college walk-on to defy all odds. The series is being launched with the support of production partners Identifi and ACE Media, the content arm of the NFL Players Association.

“When I was told that FOX Sports was going to air this project, I was ecstatic,” said Mayfield. “This project gives me the chance to tell my story in my own words and allows me the opportunity to show everyone the work I poured into my craft to achieve the ultimate goal.”

The series will look back at Mayfield’s journey from early in his high school career all the way through his arrival to Cleveland and the launch of Browns training camp. Camera crews have been embedded with Mayfield since the end of the Rose Bowl in January, and are still with him now, with footage in the final episodes to be released days after it’s filmed in Cleveland.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for FOX Sports to showcase the drive of a young, talented man,” said Gabe Spitzer, Senior Vice President and Executive Producer, FOX Sports Films. “We were able to display the challenges Baker faced to achieve his goals. We are encouraged by this type of programming and Baker was the perfect athlete to partner with.”

After finishing at Lake Travis High, in Austin Texas, Mayfield was an all-state recruit, but lacked size which scared major college programs away. He began his collegiate career as a walk on at Texas Tech, where he started seven of eight games, winning Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year (218-of-340, 64.1 percent complete, 2,315 yards 12 touchdowns, nine interceptions). After leaving Texas Tech and sitting out the 2014 season as a transfer student at Oklahoma, Mayfield became the starter in 2015. He finished the season as Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and fourth in Heisman Trophy voting. He also won the Burlsworth Trophy as the nation’s top player who began his career as a walk-on after completing 68.1 of his passes (269-of-395) for 3,700 yards and 36 touchdowns with only seven interceptions. He won the Burlsworth Trophy again in 2016, in addition to being named first-team All-Big 12, and finished third in Heisman voting. Mayfield finished his collegiate career as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in college football history, winning the prestigious Heisman Trophy along with the Maxwell Award and Davey O’Brien Award. In his final season at Oklahoma, Mayfield won the Big 12 Championship and a spot in the 2017 College Football Playoff.
