To the twenty-five 2016-2016 Dallas Stars Ice Girls finalists, Wednesday, August 3rd, was just like any other finals night. Or so they thought. Little did these ladies know, as they were toughing through drills on the ice for the first hour of the night, their soon-to-be directors were discussing their plan of action to reveal the team. The eight finals nights of long hours and hard work on and off the ice were about to pay off!
As the ladies came off the ice, Director Christina Swanson announced that the team should sing “Happy Birthday” to one of the rookie candidates, Samantha. After the birthday song, Samantha went around and hugged every single one of her soon-to-be sisters. When the group hugging died down, Christina announced that they would be going back out on the ice with hockey sticks…and that the only time the sticks are brought out is when they have an Ice Girls team.
