I am often asked on Instagram about my makeup routine; more specifically, what foundation(s) I use. I decided this would be the perfect post for today. This is not a sponsored post…and remember, I am not a pro. These are just the products I love and use!

My Five Favorite Foundations

1. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Stromboli

This foundation is my absolute favorite! It goes on sheer, which I love for an everyday look. You can also build up the coverage for events or a night out. I would use this foundation if you have normal to dry skin. My skin is pretty normal. If you have oily skin, this foundation may be too luminous for you. Stromboli is a medium shade with olive undertones. I have worn darker before, but since I do not tan my face, I prefer to wear this natural shade and add bronzer if I need a sun-kissed glow.

2. MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC40

I have worn this foundation for years. It was the very first foundation I used when I was just a little girl and had my makeup done for “The Nutcracker” performance. Some say that this foundation is too heavy for them, but it has honestly always been my go-to when I am dancing on the field/court or at an event. While I own all five of the foundations listed here, and I switch up my routine every now and then depending on my mood, I can always count on Studio Fix for a flawless look.

3. The Perfect Face Picture Perfect Foundation in Y8

Danielle Doyle is the owner and creator of the Perfect Face Cosmetics. All of her products are highly pigmented and formulated for film, photography, stage and everyday perfection. I met Danielle in 2007 when I competed at Miss Texas Teen USA. She painted my face for headshots, and I instantly fell in love with her sweet personality and incredible makeup line. I was young at the time and did not need such a pigmented foundation, but now I am obsessed with hers! Y8 is literally the perfect shade. If I wear it during the daytime, I use my BeautyBlender for a sheer, flawless everyday look. For stage and photography, I use a foundation brush.

4. Zinc Beauty HD Foundation in a Custom Blend

Peggy, the owner of Zinc Beauty, is the coolest makeup artist around. She is seriously the best. If you ever need your makeup done, she is magical! Her products are all amazing. Her HD foundation is not only good for photoshoots and events; but I also love it for a lightweight everyday look, especially when I am on vacation and don’t want to do much to my face. I use a color that she custom blended for my skin tone, but there are great colors on her website for you to try as well.

5. DERMABLEND Smooth Liquid Camo Foundation in Sepia

I recently purchased this foundation. I used their Smooth Indulgence Concealer in “Sable” for years, but since they discontinued it, I decided to give their foundation a try. I don’t use it often, but it is great for covering up redness, brown spots, uneven skin tone, and rosacea. If you need a heavier foundation that provides a seamless camouflage and an ultra-smooth finish, this is the foundation for you.

I apply all of my foundations using a BeautyBlender® in nude. A little pricey, but sooo worth it!
