Fans Attending AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium Asked to Support Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

ARLINGTON – As the college football season prepares to kick off in full swing on Saturday, the football community here in North Texas will come together at the AdvoCare Classic to support the tens of thousands of Texans that are struggling through the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, the University of Michigan and the University of Florida are collaborating to bring awareness and encourage all those in attendance on Saturday to support the Salvation Army’s Harvey relief efforts.

Fans are encouraged to visit HelpSalvationArmy.org to learn more about how they can support relief efforts.

“At this point, the best way we can help all those affected by Harvey is by supporting tremendous relief organizations like the Salvation Army,” Rick Baker, Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic president said. “Any contribution large or small will go directly to the hurricane relief effort. Our hope is that the AdvoCare Classic will be another shining example of the good that can be generated from depths of this disaster.”

Here are how donations to the Salvation Army can support those affected by Hurricane Harvey:

• A $10 donation feeds a disaster survivor for one day.
• A $30 donation provides one food box containing staple foods for a family of four, or one household cleanup kit containing brooms, mops, buckets and other cleaning supplies.
• A $100 donation can serve snacks and drinks to 125 survivors and emergency personnel at the scene of a disaster.
• A $250 donation can provide one hot meal to 100 people or keep a hydration station operational for 24 hours.
• A $500 donation keeps a Salvation Army canteen operational for one day.

The in-game production at AT&T Stadium will include a call-to-action at points throughout the Michigan vs. Florida game on Saturday.

The AdvoCare Classic kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be televised by ESPN on ABC.
