SEATTLE — After transforming Safeco Field into a larger-than-life golf, food and music playground this Presidents Day weekend with Topgolf Crush, Topgolf is making another investment in the Seattle community. The company today announced a $10,000 donation to Russell Wilson’s charity, Why Not You Foundation, dedicated to motivating and empowering today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders and change the world.

“Experiences like Topgolf can have a long-lasting impact on young people. Topgolf creates a fun social scene where kids and teens can hang out and do something active in a safe environment,” said Why Not You Foundation Founder and Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson. “Since we don’t have a permanent Topgolf built in Seattle yet, this donation will help support activities and events in Seattle that inspire our youth and foster positive social interaction. I would love for Topgolf to come to Seattle for the long term so kids have a place to play, adults can go on fun dates, and our community can come together.”

Over Presidents Day weekend, a sold out Topgolf Crush gave Seattleites the exclusive opportunity to crush golf balls from the grandstands into giant targets on the outfield while enjoying food, drinks and a live DJ. The Toptracer technology allowed players to see the flight path of their golf balls and scored each shot on TV screens in the hitting bays. The experience also featured a few celebrity appearances, including Jason and Molly Mesnick from season 13 of The Bachelor.

“Topgolf was born from innovative leaders who had the passion, courage and drive to think beyond golf and build positive entertainment communities. We are proud to support the Why Not You Foundation to help show today’s youth that they also have the power to change the world,” said Topgolf Entertainment Group Co-Chairman and CEO Erik Anderson, a Seattle native.

About Why Not You Foundation
The Why Not You Foundation was launched in 2014 by Russell Wilson and is dedicated to creating real and lasting change in the world by motivating, empowering and preparing today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders.

As a child, Russell’s father challenged him to approach life with a “why not you” attitude. Through the Why Not You Foundation, Russell intends to share that attitude by encouraging and challenging today’s youth to embrace opportunities, overcome obstacles and make a positive impact throughout their lives.

In addition to financially supporting organizations aligned with the foundation’s mission, Russell works to extend the foundation’s impact by making visits to Seattle Children’s, advocating for pediatric cancer through Strong against Cancer, working with the National Domestic Violence Hotline to Pass the Peace, as well as many others.
