The Yards to expand health and beauty offerings with addition of two salons

WASHINGTON — The Yards, a Forest City mixed-use development in Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Riverfront district, is set to expand its health and beauty offerings with the opening of a men’s salon and a full-service nail salon.

Eighteen Eight Fine Men’s Salon reinvents the barbershop to focus on “man at his best” with custom haircuts, facial and scalp treatments, classic straight-razor shaves and more, all delivered in a relaxed atmosphere featuring semiprivate grooming stations. Eighteen Eight is set to open this summer in ground floor space of the Foundry Lofts apartment community on Tingey Street.

Cosmopolitan Nail Lounge will offer full-service nail and waxing treatments in a setting that features free Wi-Fi, refreshments, and individual guest tablets to listen to music or watch a movie during appointments. Cosmopolitan uses medical-grade sterilization for all instruments, as well as disposable manicure tools and disposable liners for pedicure chairs. It is also expected to open this summer on 4th Street in street-level space at the Arris apartment community.

“We are very excited to welcome these two retail tenants to The Yards,” said Jason Bonnet, Forest City Washington’s vice president of development. “They fill an identified need in the neighborhood and complement other service offerings in the neighborhood.”

The welcoming of the salons is just the start of an exciting new year at The Yards. Conte Bikes, The Juice Laundry and District Winery are set to join the neighborhood’s dynamic retail lineup in 2017.
