Dallas Stars Ice Girls 2014 Calendar Release Party

By Jay Betsill

— The Dallas Stars Ice Girls unveiled their annual calendar during a party on Thursday evening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Victory Park. While the calendar was officially on sale beginning Friday morning, it was made available for those who attended the party to purchase and have them personally autographed by all of the Ice Girls.

This season’s Ice Girls squad, under first-year director Christina Swanson, held their auditions on July 27 at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco and following a two-week training camp, 23 of the candidates were selected to represent the team at home games, corporate and charity appearances.

In addition, they also shoot the very popular Dallas Stars Ice Girls Lake Day video and the annual calendar photographed by Andrew Dieb.

The action got under way at 7 p.m. with the FOX Sports Southwest Girls, Kaime and Liddy, hosts for the evening, introducing the behind-the-scenes video shot on location at the calendar photo shoot. That video concluded with the revealing of the cover model, rookie Kendall C. To view the behind the scenes calendar shoot video, visit here.

Over the next hour, the Ice Girls, positioned throughout restaurant in front of large photos from the calendar, mingled with fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures. The FOX Sports Southwest Girls also interviewed individual Ice Girls onstage about their calendar shoot experience.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Derek Holland was among the fans at the party — Holland attends many of the Stars’ home games at American Airlines Center.

The Dallas Stars Ice Girls 2014 Calendar is on sale for $20. Autographed copies are available for $25. For information, visit DallasStars.com.
