DALLAS — The Dallas Stars Ice Girls unveiled their annual swimsuit calendar with a big release party on Monday evening at Sambuca in Uptown. The popular dinner club located across McKinney Avenue from the Ritz-Carlton Dallas hotel provided the perfect location for the event, which gave Stars fans and the Ice Girls’ friends and family their first glimpse of the calendar and the chance to have it autographed by the ladies.
Stars Ice Girls director Christina Swanson got the evening underway at 7 p.m. when she took the stage to welcome everyone in attendance and announce the calendar was now officially available for purchase. There was a table set up, complete with a Stars victory green table cloth, where fans could purchase the calendar.
This is the first year the Ice Girls have held their calendar party at this upscale venue. In past calendar parties, the ladies were clad in their uniforms, but this year’s event saw them donning elegant black dresses that were a perfect fit for the evening.
All 23 of the Ice Girls were lined up at cocktail tables with their calendar photos behind them and strategically positioned in order of appearance in the calendar. The line began with cover model Melissa, Miss January Julia and on down to Miss November Courtni, and wrapped up with Miss December Kendall and Miss January 2016 Belinda.
“Our directors showed us each month of the calendar first, and to be honest I was a little bummed out because I thought I didn’t have a month. Then, they flipped over the calendar and announced that it was me! I couldn’t believe it, and I teared up a little,” said third-year veteran Melissa, who learned she had been selected for the cover during practice. “It is such an honor to be on the cover and represent the Dallas Stars Ice Girls for an entire year!”
The Ice Girls calendar was shot at multiple locations across the Dallas area, including the Omni Dallas Hotel, the Belmont Hotel, Deep Ellum and the historic Cotton Mill in McKinney. This year’s calendar was photographed by Jerome Miron.
The Dallas Stars Ice Girls 2015 Swimsuit Calendar is on sale for $20. Autographed copies are available for $30. For further information, visit DallasStars.com.
