Happy #WorkoutWednesday, friends! One of my favorite ways to get a quick workout in when I can’t make it to the gym is to do a high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout right in the comfort of my own living room. You can do the same without having to spend too much money! I do recommend at the bare minimum investing in a set of 5-10lb dumbbells, which you can find at Target, Walmart, Academy, etc. Without further ado, here’s today’s HIIT workout:

Warmup:
-Jog/run outside for 10 minutes OR
-Perform the following exercises for one minute each (and repeat 1x): Jumping Jacks, Burpees, Mountain Climbers, High Knees, Butt Kicks.

Set #1 (perform 3x before moving to the next set)
-20 Alternating Lunges (with dumbbells overhead)
-15 Squats with an Overhead Press
-10 Jump Squats

Set #2 (perform 3x before moving to the next set)
-20 Bicep Curls (You can do these in a static lunge to keep your heart rate up and engage more muscles)
-15 Triceps Dips
-10 Push-Ups

Set #3 (perform 3x before moving to the next set)
-20 Step Ups with Leg Lifts, Holding Dumbbells (pictured below- find a stead chair, bench, etc.)
-15 Plié Squats
-10 Alternating Skaters

Core Work:
Perform the following core exercises for one minute each: Bicycles, Russian Twists, Middle Plank (if you have access to bosu balls, try the variation you see in the picture below), Left Side Plank, Right Side Plank

STRETCH! You’re done!

*Keep in mind with any workout  that the less breaks you take, the better! This will help you keep your heart rate up and maximize your time. See you next Wednesday! 🙂
